In 2004, Jordan Trajkov founded this masterpiece out of his love for wine, rich traditions and the preservation of local production methods. Located on the southern slopes of the Vardar Valley, just west of Demir Kapija, Popova Kula is located in a historic region where wine has been grown since 1300 BC. The name "Popova Kula" honors, on the one hand, a legendary tower that once served as a Roman checkpoint at the same location.
In addition, the name refers to the microclimate of the Tikvesh region. A place steeped in history, which lends itself perfectly to the art of wine making due to the continental microclimate with warm summer days and exceptionally cool nights.
Popova Kula offers us wines ranging from classic grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay to the most exclusive North Macedonian grape Stanushina. Popova Kula is the only producer in the world of this grape, which produces a delicious rosé, which - even better than a dry Riesling - lends itself perfectly to pairing with umami dishes.
